Harper's Minnie Mouse Party

I'm excited to be able to share a few pictures from a good friends child's birthday party. Heather did a great job with her decorations. It was a super cute and classy Minnie party. Heather doesn't have a Cricut or a silhouette so she hand cut this precious banner!

Is it not PRECIOUS?!?!? She also made this cute Minnie Head out of styrofoam balls and spray paint!

She did Minnie heads with black lanterns and tissue paper too. They were hanging from the tent.

She came over one day and we used my Silhoutte to cut out some vinyl. She used the vinyl on the cake plates and jars for drinking. We don't have the best picture of the jars, but you can at least get an idea of what they looked like.

She made her cute cupcake toppers too!

I hope you enjoyed the pics and got some good ideas from this precious party Heather did!

Mooooo! Ava Greer is 2!

I hate that this took me so long to get on here, but school is out now!!!!!!!!! I hope to do much more blogging!!!!! As, you know I decided to take a blast into the past starting with Ava Greer's 1st birthday, so now we are on birthday #2!
So when I started this adventure I wanted to do a super cute green and pink owl party. I had a binder full of pictures to give me ideas for food, decorations, favors, and even the party outfit. Holly even made the owl invitation and it was super cute. Then I realized I was doing what I liked and not what baby girl liked! So, I changed it all and went with what she loved…COWS! I remember one of the things she said every time we were in the car was, "I wanna see cows!" and we saw lots of them since we live in Alabama. We even had a song we made up about PopPop's cows and we sang it all the time. I found this smocked cow dress at a consignment sale and thought it would be great for her to wear for the invitation.  Invitations by HollyDays

After Holly designed this precious invitation I fell in love with the cow and wanted to make one. I used a projector to draw the cow on a piece of wood and my sweet husband cut it out. Heath is the owner of Bespoke Wood Designs and a fabulous designer and cabinet maker. Can you tell I'm proud? He really does some amazing work.

Ava Greer's party dress was also a consignment dress with a monogram on it that I covered with a cow patch and put her monogram on. It was super cheap. I made her little birthday hat to match and to complete the outfit she wore her Daddy's boots that he had as a toddler.

These were the signs we put out for parking and to send the guest on the path to the party. I still have all of these signs if you are looking for any cow party items! :)

This is a set up of the table where everyone sat to eat hotdogs and hamburgers. We used hay bales for seats, burlap to cover the tables, cow handkerchiefs from Hobby Lobby and flowers in jars with pink gingham fabric torn and tied around the top of the jar. The barn front was actually something Heath made for my classroom and he just attached it to the play set.

This is a set up of the food table. Everything you see was made by me, mom or Holly.  Mom made her famous Red Velvet cake and it was delicious. I attempted to decorate it, but it was a fail. Good thing it still tasted amazing!

Cow Cake bites, cow rice krispies, and cupcakes with HollyDays topper

Heath cut out these little blocks and Holly painted Ava Greer on them. The favors were cookies in a jar that were behind a little white picket fence as guest were leaving the party. We had Cow Tails and flowers in jars. The birthday girl had her own HollyDays plate at the table. We hand made all the pink and blue birthday hats and put a HollyDays sticker on them.

I hope you enjoyed the pics and flashback. It was lots of fun!

HE > me

HE>me

Our pastor is doing a sermon serious titled HE>me. It has been unbelievably eye opening for me. The basis of it is humility and pride. Before last week I thought I was a pretty humble person…pretty prideful of me to think that though, huh?

Matthew 23:12 says, For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Why are we on this earth? Who is to be exalted? How am I going to exalt him and not be prideful?

I have lots of questions to answer to make sure that my pride isn’t getting in the way of  him being greater than me…

While I’m on the topic, if you don’t know me personally I would like to tell you that the purpose of this blog is not to glorify or exalt myself in anyway. It was NEVER intended to do so. I wanted to do it to share things with other crafters mainly. I love getting great ideas from Pinterest so I wanted to link by blog to my Creations and Celebrations Pinterest Board. I wanted to help others get ideas like those that I have gotten from others.  I want to be here to answer questions and help in any way possible. I never want anyone to look at my life or the things I do/write and envy it or get hurt in anyway. Yes, I do have a wonderful life and am blessed beyond words to be madly in love with my husband and children. The Lord has blessed me beyond understanding. We all have a story though. No matter how peachy you think ones life may be chances are they have probably gone through some pretty tough stuff. With that being said, I am blessed and I am happy.

Psalm 28:6-7

Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

My mom bought me these super cute scripture posters when I went off to college and I truly hid that scripture in my heart. One verse in particular really stuck with me through the years. This is who I strive to be. Just so happens that our pastor used this verse in his sermon today.

Phillipians 2:3

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Throughout this sermon series our pastor said he was going to give a "pop quiz" occasionally which will basically be this question..."How many of you are thinking about someone else right now, instead of yourself?" How many of us can see the pride in others, but can't see it in ourselves? Which leads me to this. Since I have become a mom I am learning more and more how I shouldn't judge others. Yes the word of God says that very clearly and yes I have known it my whole life, but in recent days it takes on a whole new meaning. We are responsible for ourselves, not others. We are different. That is That. I want to be the woman God wants me to be though no matter how others treat me or what others do. I am responsible for me.
